Kenya Bush Safari and beach holidays are a unique and magical combination in Kenya, one of the most ideal locations to experience both safaris in one trip round.

Begin your Kenya safari journey at the luxury tented camp Sasaab, staying in the wild and rugged Samburu. A game reserve on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The park is 165 km² in size and is situated 350 kilometres from Nairobi.

The Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness, made famous in the best-selling book and award-winning movie Born Free.

There is a wide variety of animal and bird life seen at Samburu National Reserve. Several large game species common to Kenya’s northern plains can be found in abundance here, including the following dry-country fauna: gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, Oryx and reticulated giraffe. All three big cats, the lion, cheetah and African leopard can also be found here, as well as the elephant, Cape buffalo and hippopotamus.

Other mammals frequently seen in the park include olive baboon, warthogs, Grant’s gazelle, Kirk’s dik – dik, impala, and water buck. A black rhinoceros’ population has been re-introduced into the park after an absence of 25 years due to heavy poaching.

There are over 350 species of bird. These include grey-headed kingfisher, sun birds, bee-eaters, Marabou stork, tawny eagle, Verreaux’s eagle, bateleur, vulture guinea fowl, yellow-necked spurfowl, lilac-breasted roller, secretary bird, superb starling, northern red-billed horn bill, yellow-billed horn bill, and various vultures including the palm-nut vulture.

After which you will head to the awe-inspiring Aberdare National Park and Mount Kenya home to the white and black rhino.

Dive into the steep forested ravines and open moorland of the Aberdare National Park. The park provides a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffaloes, warthogs and bush bucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker.

Visitors can indulge in picnics, trout fishing in the rivers and camping in the moorlands. Bird viewing is rewarding, with over 250 species of birds in the park, including the Jackson’s Francolin, Sparrow hawks, goshawks, eagles, sun birds and plovers.

Don’t miss out on Mount Kenya, the second tallest mountain in Africa. The scenery surrounding this designated World Heritage Site is breath-taking. It is pristine wilderness with lakes, tarns, glaciers, dense forest, mineral springs and a selection of rare and endangered species of animals, high altitude adapted plains game and unique montane and alpine vegetation. Visitors can enjoy mountain climbing, camping and caving with the mountain’s rugged glacier-clad peaks providing the perfect backdrop.

Next you will fly to your Masai Mara region, Kenya’s world-famous safari destination for an unforgettable bush experience. One of the most famous and important wildlife conservation and wilderness areas in Africa. world-renowned for its exceptional populations of lion, leopard, cheetah and African bush elephant. It also hosts the Great Migration, which secured it as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, and as one of the ten Wonders of the World.

Blue wildebeest, topi, plains zebra and Thomson’s gazelle migrate into and occupy the Mara reserve, from the Serengeti plains to the south and Loita Plains in the pastoral ranches to the north-east, from July to October or later. Herds of all three species are also resident in the reserve.

All members of the “Big Five” lion, African leopard, African bush elephant, African buffalo, black and white rhinos are found here all year round.

Then take time to relax and soak up the sun, while you spend your days lying on the beach and swimming in the Indian Ocean at glorious Kinondo Kwetu in Kenya’s South Coast.
