Continue on until arriving at Mabira Forest for 1.5 hours of zip lining.

Proceed to Jinja and enjoy 1.5 hours of horseback riding along the banks of the Nile. Head to a popular lakeside restaurant for a lunch consisting of Jinja’s signature dish of deep-fried tilapia and fries. Enjoy lunch and evening snack, as well as one beer, throughout the day.

Visit the Speke Monument

The original Source of the Nile Site, where the British Explorer Speke first discovered the River Nile. Stand where he stood, take a picture with the monument, go for boat rides across the river Nile and into Lake Victoria, see monkeys, monitor lizards, pythons. The site also allows for camping, nature walks, parties and occasions with a truly spectacular nature setting. Ideal for bird watching and anyone looking for 1 day tour in the Ugandan Countryside.

Go for the Itanda Falls, rapids on the White Nile River, popular for both white-water rafting and high-level kayaking. It is an alternative to the more popular and powerful Murchison Falls, and Bujagali Falls, which has become submerged due to dam construction.

Marvel at the roaring volume and power of the Nile at this sacred site, where locals come to pray for miracles. There aren’t any facilities at the falls, so come prepared with supplies. Otherwise, sign up for a safari or adventure tour that will take you to the falls from Jinja, and typically includes rafting equipment, meals and entry.

Check out for the Victoria Nile Stretching for 4,187 miles, the longest river in the world flows from its major source, Lake Victoria in east central Africa, through Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia and northwards into Egypt to the Mediterranean Sea.

The Source of the Nile Museum Initiative aims at enhancing the shared trend of exposing the Richness in our culture, traditions, politics and commerce. There is belief that partnership and support will guarantee this vision now and for generations to come.

Busowoko falls has lovely views, great food and the ‘water massage’ is great fun (although the falls are very powerful, so be prepared!). Staff is enthusiastic and helpful, although a bit too keen to take our photograph at every viewpoint.
